Galltec+Mela sensors for measuring relative humidity and temperature with ATEX certificate
The top quality of the capacitive humidity sensors with the Mela humidity sensing element has proved its worth. Thanks to astute further development, the humidity and temperature sensors in the series KC and GC that are certified according to ATEX are now also certified for connecting up to areas with a potentially explosive gas atmosphere which would normally require class 1 equipment. In this case the sensors must be attached to the partition barrier with Zone 0 using a special assembly kit (ZA40).
The inherently safe humidity and temperature sensors from Galltec+Mela are certified in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC not only for areas with a potentially explosive gas atmosphere, but also for areas with inflammable dust. The standard measurement ranges are 0…100% rh and –20 … 80 °C respectively. The sensors provide the analogue output signal 4…20 mA. To connect up to electric circuits that are not inherently safe you connect via special transmitter power supplies with galvanically separated inputs.
The Galltec+Mela product range includes six different models, special power supplies and assebly kits. On application we also offer special models, such as sensors with an elongated sensor pipe or sensors with a particular temperature measurement range (0 ... 50 °C or 0 ... 100 °C).
The inherently safe instruments made by Galltec+Mela can be used for a wide range of applications thanks to their certification and in addition to that, offer a real alternative to other often very costly transmitters for use in areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere.
