New LC Purification System Uses RFID for Method Automation

The new Combiflash Rf is Teledyne Iscos fourth-generation personal flash chromatography system, with new capabilities to save time and increase sample security in organic purifications. Method automation via RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) reduces setup time and the potential for errors. When an RFID-tagged Isco Redisep column is inserted in the column holder, the Combiflash Rf instantly detects the column type and size, and programs a default method, flow rate, and pressure limit. Default settings can easily be changed by the user even while a separation is in progress. RFID sensing also enables tracking of column usage history, and identification of the fraction collector tube racks so that fraction size is also set automatically.
