Innovative Horizontal Reactor

Just in time for the POWTECH starting at the end of March, AVA will present an extraordinary innovation to the specialized audience: a horizontal reactor with special features for laboratory use. After having carried out numerous trials in the pilot plant station, AVA was able to develop a specially designed machine which will be applied for drying powdery raw materials for filter element production.

The final products are high-tech filter elements which are used e.g. for the power plants industry. There have been special challenges for AVA when developing this machine: a high temperature range; a defined centricity of the main shaft with unilateral agitator bearing; an isolation which allows a certain expansion behaviour; defined heating and cooling rates and a sealing which was finally designed as a combination of various systems. In numerous test runs different models had been tried out which should work against product sintering and thus crust building at the wall. The result is a complete and complex new construction of an innovative high tech horizontal reactor which meets all challenges of this difficult task.

This is not a standard product but rather an innovation for the customer’s benefit. The additional investment by the customer was to his advantage as the regularly pre-installed chamber filter press has been spared.
