Ansell, a world leader in hand protection, announces the launch of the PowerFlex® T° Hi Viz Yellow™ 80-400. Brightly coloured to improve safety, the PowerFlex® 80-400 is designed for handling and carrying in cold temperatures as low as -30°C. The glove’s performance offers a real alternative to fur-lined leather gloves.
Very cold temperatures pose specific health and safety risks, among which hypothermia and frostbite, reduced muscle flexibility and stiffened joints. Productivity is also affected as reduced blood flow to the extremities reduces the dexterity and the sensitivity of the fingers and hand. This causes workers to apply more grip force to handle tools and objects. The result is that fatigue sets in faster and accident rates are often higher.
François Turmel, Business Development Director of Ansell Healthcare Europe states: “This PowerFlex® glove offers the highest level of dexterity and grip Ansell has ever achieved for cold environments. We strongly recommend it to outdoor workers and others who do heavy work in the winter or in refrigerated areas.”
The PowerFlex® T° Hi Viz Yellow™ 80-400 is recommended for handling and carrying in cold outdoor environments, for tasks such as public maintenance, construction, refuse collection, transport and shipping, as well as in indoor refrigeration and cooling plants.
After exposure to wet work conditions, (rain, melted snow, etc.) leather gloves become stiff when dry; the PowerFlex® retains its original softness and flexibility. Perspiration can easily evaporate during wear through the knitted liner covering the back of the glove, unlike with fur-lined leather gloves. Where fur becomes compressed with repeated wear, insulation can be affected; the thickness of the PowerFlex®’s terry lining will not alter and its insulating properties outlast those of fur.
Ansell’s latest innovation in industrial gloves combines an insulating thermal terry loop acrylic liner with a special crinkle-finish latex outer coating which ensures excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions. Thanks to a precisely controlled forming and dipping process, the glove’s insulating latex coating is of consistent thickness and offers the wearer superb fit and flexibility. The thumb is also coated, offering improved grip and providing the increased cushioning needed in heavy handling applications. A continuous cuff ensures additional protection as well as a secure hold on the wrist. The glove’s seamless knitted liner was designed with safety in mind: it is a bright yellow colour, offering high visibility in low or poor light conditions.
