Ansell, a world leader in hand protection, announces the launch of the slimmest, lightest HyFlex glove ever, the HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618. The lightest lined and coated glove ever made by Ansell, the HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618 is 20% lighter in weight than previous nylon/polyurethane Ansell gloves. The knitted glove's dipped palms and fingers are only 0.8 millimetres thick, offering the best tactility amongst dipped gloves available on the market today. Designed for assembly tasks requiring a high degree of precision, the Ultra-Lite was intended for tasks involving of repeated flexing and pinching of the fingers and fingertips.
The level of comfort and sensitivity achieved make the glove ideal for workers who are dissatisfied with the current level of tactility of their gloves. Workers who currently cut the fingers off their gloves because they are not satisfied with the level of touch and precision they offer, wear cotton gloves, or refuse to wear gloves at all, could all potentially benefit from the HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618.
The HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618 is recommended for handling and light assembly applications. Examples include: picking or fitting small pieces such as screws, bearings, fasteners or springs; white goods handling and production; electrical goods assembly and repair; carpentry and framing; and packaging in cosmetics. Use of these gloves is an excellent way to avoid deteriorating finished products. Other sectors include baggage control at airport security checkpoints.
Even in very light assembly operations, wearing gloves helps to avoid minor punctures (splinters, wires), cuts and scrapes which may become infected and painful. It protects skin from the formation of blisters and callouses, and even from the drying effects of wood dust or glue. In comparison to cotton gloves which abrade a little with each wash cycle, the HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618 remains consistently low-linting. It also boasts of high abrasion resistance (EN level 3) and a dark colour which makes it suitable for environments where dirt is present. It may be washed a number of times without losing any of its properties. The HyFlex® Ultra-Lite 11-618 is not anti-static and is not recommended for those applications requiring anti-static properties. Designed to minimise the sweating associated with glove wearing, the glove also allows sweat to evaporate easily and stays drier longer than cotton. The cuff is elasticised and the glove is designed for close-fitting comfort.
