High-precision digital gauge and Interface modules for high precision multi measurement fixtures

The new Sony DK and MG series have been specially designed for high precision multi measurement fixtures. They provide high resolution and high accuracy combined with long measuring range in a very compact design. Therefore the 8mm diameter body enables them to be easily integrated in the place where inductive LVDT probes are used nowadays.

The new DK series is available in measuring lengths of 12mm and 2mm with a maximum resolution of 0,1µm and an accuracy of +-0,5µm. This accuracy is given over the whole measuring range and especially used of the measurement of smallest tolerances. Thanks to its high response speed up to 100m/min, the new gauge series is especially used for dynamic measurements. The new DK series has a standard TTL-line driver interface RS422 which makes it easy to connect to an IPC or controller. The spindle can be moved by vacuum and air pressure as well.

The new MG series is a modular gauging system that allows flexible and multi-point measuring for today’s most popular output protocols. Because of its modular construction (for readouts of up to 64 gauges), the multi-interface unit MG can be easily mounted to a standard DIN rail (35 mm), requires minimal wiring and can be easily expanded for future upgrades. The MG series is compatible with all Sony probes and supports various Fieldbus systems, like Profibus, etc., but also RS232C and BCD interfaces.

Sony anticipate that the extreme compactness, high accuracy and proven magnetic reliability of the DK series will find many applications in the automotive industry particularly in multi-gauging systems when connected to the Sony MG serial interfaces.
