The portable digital HQD system can be used to determine 3h, conductivity and dissolved oxygen. The measurement of dissolved oxygen is carried out with an optical LDO sensor.
In the sensor blue light is directed onto an oxygen-sensitive layer, exciting the material in the layer and causing it to emit red light. The time from when the blue light is sent until the red light is emitted is proportional to the oxygen concentration in the water. The change from the electrochemical method to the optical method has several advantages.
The system is practically maintenance free because there is no more need to change electrolyte and calibrate the sensor. Common interference factors such as fouling, poisoning by H2S and inadequate sample flow are eliminated.
