Micro-Epsilon is supplementing the existing range of optical micrometers with the compact series, optoCONTROL 1200. These micrometers are employed for the non-contact measurement of dimensional quantities such as diameter, width, height, gap or edge position. The main applications are to be found in inspection on production lines, on conveyor belts, in extrusion lines, machine monitoring, production machinery or automatic inspection equipment.
The laser micrometer offered by Micro-Epsilon is based on the principle of light quantity measurement which uses a homogeneous visible light curtain in Laser Safety Class 2 as a medium. Through the use of high quality glass optical components high accuracy is achieved with a large number of measurement ranges from 2 mm to 30 mm. The best resolution is specified at 1 µm. The Series 1200 can be used both for static measurements as well as for very dynamic processes up to a cut-off frequency of 100 kHz. The supply voltage is rated at 12-32 VDC which is convenient for automation applications. An analog voltage of 0 to 10 V is available at the output. The measurements can be immediately internally monitored for adjustable limits and tolerances. The frequency range of the switching output extends up to 25 kHz.
The measurement device, which is designed as transmitter and receiver units, contains the complete controller electronics in the housing and therefore features very compact installation dimensions.
The mounting spacing between the transmitter and receiver modules can be between 20 mm and 5 m. A rugged aluminum case is used which can be mounted in various orientations. Apart from standard models with an axial measurement direction, housing models are also available in the manufacturer's range with a 90° measurement alignment.
