The advantages of decentralised solutions with human-machine interfaces in the production environment are clear to see: Mobility, rapid access to information and ease of operation. Safety, userfriendliness and, increasingly, good design are called for when choosing the most suitable industrial standard command panel.
The Comfort Panel from Rittal, the leading enclosure systems supplier, offers ideal individually adaptable solutions, while allowing functional enlargement and solid protection. The Comfort Panel scores with a greater range of features: A command panel installation depth of 113 mm is now available as an additional standard dimension. With the aid of the extension profile, installation depths of 269 and 425 mm can also be achieved.
The attractive design of the front frame is a real eye-catcher, finished off with an all-round soft profiled edge, protecting the user from potential injury – a big advantage over a metal only design. Optionally, the colour scheme can be adjusted to match the machine's colour scheme or specially designed edges can be applied to the front of the panel to identify the piece of equipment. A mounting channel around the command panel enables a keyboard or accessories such as mouse pad supports, handles or clipboards to be installed in a matter of minutes.
Always a suitable answer
The Comfort Panel is characterised by a universal and highly flexible mounting system for the front panels, the "Penta2" attachment. The user can choose from three options: The panel can be fastened with threaded bolts, by drilled holes or by screw clamp technology. The operator console can be fastened from behind or from the front with five different types of claws. This allows all conventional commercially available control units to be mounted directly within the enclosure representing a cost advantage because savings of up to 22% can be achieved this way.
Flexibility is a key feature of the Comfort Panel. Each command panel can be tailored precisely to the needs of the individual customer. TFT and CRT screens, machine control panels, LEDs, switches, keys, signal lamps, "Emergency Stop" buttons and keyboards can be used in a vast number of combinations.
Top marks for practical application
Already numerous mechanical engineering and industrial manufacturing companies are using the new Comfort Panel successfully. Rofin-Sinar Laser uses the Comfort Panel to so that a new generation of lasers can be operated perfectly. "It was very important for us that the enclosure fitted in with Rofin's design philosophy and could be used with all our products. We were convinced by the Rittal Comfort Panel immediately.", Stefan Ruppik, from Rofin-Sinar Laser added positively.
Holger Eisold of EiMa Maschinenbau is also won over by the Rittal operator consoles: "The new Rittal Comfort Panel has triggered positive reactions and creates a good impression optically. We can hardly imagine ourselves using other command panels, given our elaborate mechanical engineering projects. Rittal has become the standard for us" added Mr. Eisold.
