Easier Measurement and Calibration of internal ECU variables

The new Version 6.0 of the CANape MCD tool from Vector simplifies optimization of ECU parameters in vehicles. Benefits to developers include the XCP-on-FlexRay interface, direct import of ODX files and improved user friendliness.

CANape 6.0 is the first calibration tool to have a XCP-on-FlexRay interface for directly accessing internal ECU variables. CANape identifies FlexRay bandwidth that is still available and allocates it dynamically and efficiently to the momentary calibration data traffic. Thanks to this dynamic allocation, bandwidth is utilized optimally for XCP communication and normal FlexRay communication is hardly affected.

In diagnostics and during flashing, CANape now also reads-in ECU description files in ODX 2.0 format. To process large quantities of data in high-speed measurements in driver assistance, chassis or powertrain areas, the measurement data rate was increased to more than 40 MBit/sec with XCP on Ethernet. The new Symbol Explorer offers a quick and simple way to set up and modify measurement configurations. It is also significantly easier to create new devices thanks to the drag-and-drop concept for A2L and DBC files.

Persons calibrating ECUs can analyze the measured data in a combined digital-graphic window and will benefit from a well-organized display of the measurement signals.

A single window, the Parameter Explorer, is all that is needed to access ECU parameters directly and conveniently without requiring preselection of the parameters to be calibrated. The newly designed Database Editor, besides offering many detailed improvements, now offers the capability of comparing and splitting A2L files.
