New, user-friendly FDT/DTM functionality for HART field devices connected to R. STAHL's IS1 remote I/O system

R. STAHL's new HART gateway DTM ensures more comfortable operation and extensive monitoring of HART sensors and actuators connected to the IS1 remote I/O system. It allows for communication with HART-enabled field devices via PROFIBUS DP V1. The new system features many improvements, most importantly allowing for host systems to automatically map the device topology via bus scan, if the freely selectable FDT frame application supports this. For that purpose, the PROFIBUS master independently scans the network's complete address space and creates appropriate DTM entries for all located DP or PA devices. Moreover, the gateway is especially easy to operate, thereby improving the accessibility of connected components and increasing their occupational safety. "HART Live List", for example, provides a current overview of inputs and outputs that are being used by connected HART field devices, irrespective of the connected maintenance system. An "Identification and Main-tenance" function enables a quick and comfortable readout of hard- and software version information from all modules. The HART gateway DTM comes available in several versions adapted to different IS1 configurations. An online help system, which can be consulted at any time, prevents operating errors dur-ing configuration.
