Nikon Instruments has announced the launch of its newest high definition digital camera, the DXM1200C. With unique Peltier cooling and pixel stepping technology the camera provides a greater dynamic range with which to capture even the weakest fluorescent samples. With improved sensitivity and increased resolution, it is an ideal choice for low light level imaging tasks as well as darkfield and DIC techniques. The Peltier cooling device significantly reduces heat induced CCD noise by maintaining the temperature of CCD at approximately 20°C below the ambient temperature. This helps to provide a greater signal to noise image ratio than standard capture devices. The DXM1200C also boasts an impressively high resolution, with 12.6-mega output pixels. Such high performance enables image capture with exceptional definition, which results in images ideally suited for research papers and large format printing.
