Slender light curtains: Safe200 and Safe400 / measuring light curtains

Light curtains carry out the important task of safeguarding dangerous areas of machines and equipment, as well as the detection of objects. The requirements here are very high. Modern design often demands more slender components which can be used in areas where space is limited. Shorter cycle times need high performance light curtains which reliably collect the object data at high flow speed.

With the Safe200 and Safe400 safety .light curtains, as well as the Object100 measuring light curtain, the optical sensor specialist CEDES has opened new possibilities for equipment and machine manufacturers, both for new installations and modernizations. As all three light curtain systems have an extremely compact cross-section of just 15 x 20 mm, they can be integrated into machines where other light curtains cannot be used because of their size. The Safe400 safety light curtain is the world’s smallest safety light curtain which fulfils safety category 4 in accordance with EN 954/1. Besides the obvious compactness of the light curtains, the Object100 measuring light curtain shines due to its very high sample rate of 40μs per beam. This means that even objects which travel through the measuring field very quickly are recorded reliably.
