ElektroPhysik introduced the a new wall thickness gauge. SIDSP – sensor integrated digital signal processing is the keyword.
In this product innovation, the complete measuring technique is integrated into the senor. The measuring signals are created and processed in the sensor itself. Only the completely processed digital readings will be transferred to the base unit for display, statistical evaluation and data storage.
The new sensor-integrated digital signal processing (SIDSP) enables maximum accuracy and reproducibility. Advantage of the new technology: Unlike analogue principles, the digital data transfer to the base unit does not allow erratic reading due to interference or any other influence. The result is a measuring accuracy and constancy of readings which has been unmatched so far.
The new MiniTest FH 7400 / FH 7200 is designed for use with all non-magnetic (non-ferritic) materials such as plastics, wood, glass, ceramics, glass fibre, carbon fibre, non-ferrous metals etc. Typical field of application: wall thickness measurement of all types of containers such as bottles, cans, injection-mouldings, etc. Also plastic sheets, motorcar sheets, glass panes, SMC or other large-sized components can be measured without problems.
Working on the magneto-static principle, the gauge reaches a measuring rate of up to 20 readings per second. Two sensors are available covering the ranges from 0…4mm and 0…10mm as well as a large choice of reference balls. According to sensor and reference balls a measuring accuracy of up to ( 0,5µm + 1% of reading) can be obtained. Low range sensitivity is 0,1µm.
For the operator, the new gauge series offers special advantages regarding operating convenience. The menu-controlled user surface on the large, backlit graphics display offers a user-friendly data management system similar to common PC applications enabling a convenient data management of your measuring series. A new feature is the context-sensitive on-line help so that in many cases the user does not consult the instruction manual any more.
For use in poor-lit condition, a keypad backlight function is available.
The software provides readings, statistics evaluation, histogram, trend diagram, real-time diagram (to visualize readings in continuous mode), min and max display as well as an offset-function. Readings are automatically stored into the gauge during the measuring procedure.
The calibration modes offer different modes up to 5-point calibration.
Calibration can be done over the complete range or over certain ranges. A special treatment of the reference balls enable a reproducibility of up to 0.5%.
Summary: Regarding measuring technique, the new SIDSP technology provides an extremely good accuracy. The menu-controlled user surface enables maximum operating convenience.
