JUMO MIDAS DP 10

The new electronic differential pressure transmitter from JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Fulda, Germany, has been developed for industrial measurement of differential pressure in gaseous, liquid and mildly corrosive media. Thanks to the use of a sensor elements that has been field-proven well over 100,000 times, and the rationally implemented functional design, this compact transmitter guarantees high reliability and a long operating life.

The JUMO MIDAS DP 10 has an overload-proof differential pressure cell made entirely from stainless steel and is thus capable of universal application.
Since only a single piezo-resistive pressure sensor is used here, high long-term stability is ensured.
The measurement ranges that can be supplied start at  0 — 0.4bar and end at 0 — 16bar, at a system pressure that is simultaneously up to 30 bar. The process connections are two G1/8 internal threads, into which various hose and pipe adapters can be screwed, to suit the application. Some of these adapters, as well as a mounting bracket, are included in the range of available components.
When pressure is applied to both the positive and negative side, the difference between these two pressures can be converted either into a 4 — 20mA proportional current signal or an 0.5 — 4.5V proportional voltage signal.

A variety of electrical connections are available for the user, such as a bayonet connector to DIN 72585 or an M12 round connector. The mechanical design also permits the implementation of other connections with moderate effort.
And just like the other MIDAS pressure transmitters, the JUMO MIDAS DP 10 is pressure and temperature compensated for a fully automated measurement system. It is especially noteworthy that it is possible to produce single items as well series of several thousand instruments in different versions, without any production machinery adjustment downtimes. Only in this way is it possible to achieve consistently high quality and short delivery times.

Here are some examples from a very wide range of possible measurement tasks:

  • a classic application is filter monitoring in gases or liquids; the different pressures upstream and downstream of the filter can be used to infer the level of filter contamination.
  • in pressurized boilers it is possible to use differential pressure measurement to measure the filling level, regardless of the varying system pressure.
  • by measuring the upstream and downstream of a pump, it is possible to use a controller to regulate the speed of a pump to meet throughput and energy consumption requirements.
