With BriteSpot, SciGene extends its product portfolio: a microarray workstation, which uses process control and robotics to reduce human, physical, and environmental variables that negatively affect microarray data. BriteSpot is composed of three systems that work together to reliably perform incubation, washing and drying of microarrays in an ozone-safe environment. The first component, Hybex Microarray Incubation System, allows incubation of up to 16 microarrays in racks for processing. As next step, the robotic system Little Dipper can be used to process up to 24 arrays in 5 temperature controlled baths, followed by drying in an integral centrifuge. Both Hybex and Little Dipper can conveniently be placed in the workspace NoZone, a sealed enclosure with filtration and monitoring equipment which reliably protects ozone-sensitive fluorescent dyes such as Cy5. Already levels of 20 ppb can affect negatively the signal intensity. The highly efficient filtration system reduces the ozone level in the enclosure to nearly 0 ppb. The BriteSpot System offers the best choice for reproducibility and reliability of microarray results.
